Partner School Membership

As an IYT partner school, you will gain access to the world’s most recognized yacht training programme—designed to support students from complete beginners through to professional yacht captains.

Your school will also benefit from global brand recognition and visibility, including a direct link from www.IYTworld.com to your website.

Membership Approval

All schools are evaluated against specific criteria before being approved as IYT partner schools.

  • Membership is valid for 12 months.
  • Membership is automatically renewed provided the school remains in good standing.

Requirements to Remain in Good Standing

Partner schools must:

  • Comply with the membership agreement and manual (as updated from time to time).
  • Submit student paperwork accurately and maintain records properly.
  • Pay annual membership dues and avoid arrears on any monies owed.
  • Avoid activities deemed detrimental to IYT Worldwide or other partner schools.
  • Not be affiliated with the International Sailing Schools Association (ISSA).

Local Authority Requirements

Some schools must comply with additional national or regional regulations.

For example, Algarve Cruising Center / RTV – Associação para o Estudo e Conservação dos Oceanos requires students to:

  • Demonstrate the ability to swim at least 100 metres.
  • Provide a medical fitness certificate confirming they are fit for course activities.
